The “Some-bodies” BA collection represents a transitional phase between the past and future.
This project explores a journey of acceptance through subconscious realms and nightmares to a form of limbo, reflecting on one’s hidden monsters-ranging from innocent and fragile to tormented and dark.
The collection challenges traditional concepts of menswear and womenswear by using form-fitting bodies, gloves with exaggerated nails, and minimal pattern variations to create an elongated, androgynous silhouette that evokes an illusion of deformity. This effect is achieved through contrasts between soft fabrics and rigid or rounded shapes, from simple garment construction to complex fabric manipulation, such as alienating quilting resembling a tree bark or an armour, and light draping or pleating.
Exaggerated flares and lengths ni trousers, skirts, dresses, and sleeves, combined with the seamless integration of masks and body suits, enhance the intended monstrous and androgynous aesthetic of the collection.
